Medaille College has named the following students to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. Students that meet the requirements of a minimum of 12 credit hours and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for all credit hours carried during that semester are placed on the Dean's List.

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has named 29 Cedar Crest College student-athletes out of a total of 576 student-athletes to the Fall 2017 CSAC All-Academic Team. The CSAC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.20 or better during their semester of competition, while using a full season of eligibility as determined by the NCAA.
Cedar Crest College believes that being civically engaged in one's community is a critical step in one's life journey. Each year during New Student Orientation, students are provided an opportunity to begin their civic journey by volunteering during our annual Day of Service. This opportunity allows students to serve others while demonstrating learning, connection, and caring involvement in the surrounding community. The Class of 2021 teamed up with faculty and staff members, Interim President Elizabeth Meade, and the Friends of the Allentown Parks for the college's Day of Service on Saturday, August 26, 2017. The group cleaned up the grounds between Fountain Park and Valania Park in Allentown. Later in the day the group walked to Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ at 620 Hamilton Street, where Cedar Crest College held its first classes on September 5, 1867, for a photo.
At Nazareth College, Orientation for new students includes a community service component, the Orientation Day of Service.

Students from many academic disciplines including art, education, science, and technology explained their work using posters or presentations. Gallery and performance space was allocated to students in the performing and visual arts.

Major General Anthony P. German, the Adjutant General of New York, announces the recent service accomplishment of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their initial commitment to serve community, state and nation. The newest Citizen Soldiers to complete Army basic combat training and advanced individual training were welcomed to their units during a New York Army National Guard battle handoff ceremony. The ceremony marks their completion of the National Guard Recruit Sustainment Program, a preparatory training program that provides new recruits with training, lessons and skills to excel at their initial military training. The New York Army National Guard welcomed 111 new Soldiers to their units during the May 21 ceremonies around the state.
SUNY Potsdam has announced the student cast and crew for the Tony-winning musical "Ragtime," showing at the College from Nov. 14 to 17. A collaboration between faculty, staff and students from both The Crane School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance, the show features the award-winning Crane Opera Ensemble and Orchestra. There will be performances of "Ragtime" at 7:30 p.m. from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Nov. 17. For more information, see www.potsdam.edu/arts.
